Have Stains? No problem! Buncha Farmers Stain Stick Review and Giveaway
A while back when I was receiving Cotton Booty Boxes, there was a Buncha Farmers Stain Stick included. I was so impressed with the product,
that I requested to do a review and giveaway for my readers. I was
provided one stain stick to test and one to give away to facilitate this
review. All opinions and bad iPhone pictures are my own.
On my daughter's first birthday, I had the bright idea to dress her in a white onesie and give her a bright orange cake. On top of that, we had the stomach "flu" hit our house that afternoon! Her shirt sat stained for a week before I even attempted to wash it. I knew I used a lot of butter and food coloring making her icing, so I figured her shirt was ruined. I decided to try out the Buncha Farmers Stain Stick on it, I was hooked! Not only did it remove the stain, it was super easy to use!
Fast forward, I have used this on spaghetti, road oil (on a white rash
guard), apple (brown stains from juice oxidizing), and many other
household stains I'm a huge fan. I didn't take photos of many of these
since I wasn't planning on doing a giveaway at first. The stain stick is
super easy to use too!
First wet the clothing, next, rub the stain stick on it, rub together (or with an old toothbrush), rinse. Repeat if needed. It's even cloth diaper "safe" according to
many cloth diaper users! I personally haven't tried it though. I did however try it in my Okinami Sia (silk blend) Tula hood that had an unknown stain, it worked great!
I've found myself looking for stains around the house to use the stain stick on. It's fun, and I hate cleaning!

Grateful Naturals review and Giveaway
Back in July, I was asked if I would be willing to try out some products from Grateful Naturals. I was very excited to try them out. Having an eczema like reaction to most soaps, I was looking for something I could use without resorting to cortisone cream every day.
I will say, I’m skeptical about everything when it comes to
treating myself and my family. I was
pleasantly surprised with how these products work!

I received five samples in the mail. I will go through them in order.
First is the Wonder Cream/Multi purpose healing salve.
This, like all the samples, is meant for topical application. It smells wonderful! I applied it to my arms after showers to help
control the itch from my eczema. It
works great! I applied the Wonder Cream
to one arm, regular lotion to the other, I even did this blind with my husband
choosing which arm to put them on. I
still itched, but it was tolerable, very similar to how the cortisone cream
works on my rash. I am very pleased with
this product, and I know I’ll be buying more of it!
The second is the Lemongrass Deodorant. I honestly didn’t think it would work since I
need clinical strength deodorant on most days, boy was I wrong! This is my favorite item in the pack. I used all of the deodorant, even packing and
deep cleaning my house wearing it didn’t leave me stinking! It has a nice scent, doesn’t stain my
clothes, and best of all, my underarms are actually feeling nicer than they
have in a while.
Third is the Sun Cream.
I don’t go out in the sun much, and the few times I was out in the midday sun, I forgot it at home. It rubs in clear, despite the white
appearance of the cream. I will update the
blog once I’ve managed to remember to put it on and go outside in this heat!
Fourth is the Tushy Cream.
This one I used on my daughter until I misplaced it! We cloth diaper, so finding a tushy cream
that is compatible is difficult. We only
had rash one day, so I cannot speak of how well it works on rashes, but it
didn’t bother her sensitive skin, which is a win in my book!
Fifth is the Herbal Chest Rub. I don’t know why I didn’t think about using
this with my allergy congestion until just now.
It has a very mild scent. I just
put it on while typing away on the blog, and I’m breathing a little easier
without the aid of allergy medication.

The Dawgs Solution to Spraying!
I'm happy to review the Spray Collar by Diaper Dawgs! I was provided a Spray Collar to facilitate this review, all observations, bad iPhone pictures, and opinions are my own.
Receiving the Spray Collar in the mail came at a perfect time. We are trying to sell out townhome, and the continual cleaning of splatter from spraying diapers was starting to get to me. There always seemed to be fine poop splatter on my toilet rim thanks to the new sprayer we purchased.
As soon as I got the Spray collar, I installed it. It does take some trial and error to get the hang of using it, but once you do, it's such a time saver when it comes to cleaning! No more dots to scrub off when the toilet rim wasn't wiped down! Instead, take a few squares of toilet paper and wipe the collar before storing. You can also use sanitizing wipes to clean it when cleaning your bathroom. You can even collapse it down and use a microwave sterilizer to make sure it's germ free. Please use a specific sterilizer for this use, don't mix it with your pump or bottle parts.
The soft silicone cone is unobtrusive, and is quiet when I accidentally bump it when spraying an early morning soiled diaper!
When I spray a diaper, I slightly angle down the sprayer, and keep the collar close to the diaper to contain the back spray. Too far back will cause the splatter to scatter, so practice where you need to be based on your water pressure!

My grandmother was even impressed. She was surprised how easy the sprayer and collar made cloth diapering.
Due to selling the condo, I cannot have the sprayer and collar hanging from the toilet. The collar helps pop up the sprayer from the floor, making it easier to pick up from the curled up spot next to/behind my toilet.
The nice bright rainbow of colors goes well with the decor of my children's bathroom.
On a personal note, the company is wonderful. With the loss of my grandfather shortly after I received the collar, they were more than understanding that the review and giveaway would be delayed. I cannot tell you how much it meant to me that they were so understanding!

Little Owl Diapers Review and giveaway
I am very excited to bring this review and giveaway to you, sponsored by Little Owl Baby! A year ago I became a tester for a local diaper company. I heard about them from my local RDA leader, friends, and even my pediatrician! Happy to help a local company, I offered to test them on my daughter. My instruction was to make them fail and figure out what causes them to do so. Easy, right? Not so much! These diapers are excellent!
I was provided with two shells in size medium (red and pink), two soakers in size small, one soaker in size medium, and one booster to test
A prize of one shell and soaker are also being provided for the winner of the drawing, but all opinions are my own. My daughter was a small 3 month old at the time, weighing only 11- 12 lbs at the time, she's now over a year and a bit over 18 lbs.
When they brought the diapers by my house, I was very surprised, and pleased! The construction of the diapers is fantastic. The shells are plu, with a soft fleece inner lining, no exposed plu! The wings have three snaps, two outer and one extra to prevent wing droop in active babies and adjustable waist snaps for three size settings. The elastic is snug, but not too tight, creating a great fit. The inside of the shell has three snaps, this holds your insert in place with no shifting! These diapers are daddy and grandma friendly as well! My mom loves how they fit and look! They come in four great solid colors, turquoise, red, pink, and grey. All of the fabrics are CPSIA compliant and U.S.A. made.
Sizing is super easy, smalls range 0-6 months and 7-16 lbs. Medium 6-18 months and 13-26 lbs. Larges range 18+ months and 24-34 lbs.
The soakers are amazing! They securely snap into the shell, one snap in the back, two in front. The soakers are backed with plu, which wraps around to prevent leaks, they have their own elastic, creating a gusset to keep poop in place (most of the time) and are sewn so the inner microfiber doesn't shift. They are topped with super soft fleece to protect baby's skin and wick away moisture.
For kids that need a little extra absorbency at nap time or bed time, the boosters are a great item. They are 3 layers of microfiber, topped with super soft fleece, just like the soakers to create a dry layer against baby's skin.
I cannot say enough good things about these diapers! They are easy to use, wash wonderfully, pack in the diaper bag well, and the fit is great! We have been using the same shells and soakers for a year now. The quality is fantastic! I'll be sad when they no longer fit.
The diapers are so well constructed, that most people only need 2-3 shells for a full day's diapering. Just rotate shells with each change, or snap in a new soaker in the place of the used one until you need to change shells. It's that easy! Unlike other AI2 diapers, the wrap around plu keeps you from touching the wet insert when unsnapping it!
Washing is super easy, here are the instructions from Little Owl Baby:
Before Wearing:
We recommend washing all soakers & boosters 1 time (1 wash/dry cycle) prior to first use, using a cloth diaper safe detergent.
Storing Dirty Diapers:
Unsnap the soaker from the shell
Remove any solids into the toilet
If your baby is breastfed, exclusively, there is no need to remove solids before placing in pail or wet bag
Place the soaker into a pail or wet bag, never soak the diapers
Shells can be stored & washed with soakers or with regular laundry
Wash every 2-3 days
Washing Instructions:
Rinse (pre-wash) with cold water, no detergent
Wash on hot/cold
It can be helpful to add a towel or two to the load
Run through an extra rinse cycle on warm
Tumble dry on low / medium or line-dry
Line-drying is recommended whenever possible. Exposing your diapers to sunlight will help sanitize, reduce odor and is a natural brightener
~ Please do not use any bleach, whiteners, fabric softeners or brighteners
~ Please do not use any rash cream on your baby when he/she is wearing the diaper
Detergents:
Most detergents will leave a residue on your diapers that will affect absorbency (causing leaking) and cause odors. Choose a cloth diaper friendly detergent.
Select a detergent that does not contain any of the following:
Dyes
Perfumes /Fragrances
Fabric softeners
Brighteners
Stain guard ingredients
Natural oils
Bleach
The following can void your warranty:
Chlorine bleach
Oxygen bleach
Pure soap
Borax
Sanitize / High heat cycles
High heat in the dryer

Aplix diaper woes
Aplix diapers, oh how I hate you
I know, I know, there are die hard aplix diaper fans out there, but I'm not one of them.
With my first, I chose snaps. I loved them and didn't look back. With my second child, I decided on getting a subscription box for diapers, which was really fun. The bad thing was I got several aplix diapers in it. Two I have sold locally, but I'm still sitting on three of them.
What makes me sad is I really like the diapers! They are Softbums, Rumparooz, and Happy Hiney. I used them minimally, and one was used once.
Why am I not using them? My daughter is a stinker. She rips the diaper off and runs down the hall naked. At one, she won't be potty training (potty learning) soon either
I loved my subscription box, but I'm bummed I couldn't use half of the diapers I got in it for very long.
Yes, I am trying to sell the locally, but there are only so many people that need aplix diapers in my area. I'm trying to avoid the swap due to scammers.

What about the poop? Diaper Dawgs and Heavy Dooty Cloth Wipes review and giveaway
It is my pleasure to bring this review to you! A month ago, I was sent a set of Diaper Dawgs and Heavy Dooty Cloth Wipes to test and review (avg. retail value 23.90). No financial compensation was received for this review, all opinions and photos are my own. I really like these products, and I cannot imagine how I've been cloth diapering for three years without them!
Diaper Dawgs are two, patent pending dog shaped silicone barriers to make your cloth diapering life easier. They slip over your fingers to protect your hands from the inevitable mess. Just slip them on and hold your diaper to spray off. You can remove inserts from pocket diapers, unsnap all in two diapers, even wring out a diaper after rinsing or dunking!
Diaper Dawgs are super simple to use, just slip them on (like a puppet), pull apart your diaper, rinse, dunk, or scrape off the poop without the worry of getting poop under your fingernails! After, you can clean them with antibacterial soap when washing your hands and set them aside for the next use. You can also use a microwave steam sterilizing bag to disinfect them, but make sure it's not the one you clean your bottles or pump parts with. They come in two great color sets, pink/purple or green/blue. The inside of the Dawg's mouth is ribbed to make it easy to hold onto the diaper without slipping.
These are excellent if you use a camp washer to wash your diapers too! Just after we received them, our hot water heater broke. We used a camp washer to wash our diapers, and Diaper Dawgs to wring them out (I forgot to take pictures!)
They are grandma and husband friendly too! My husband, who hates pocket diapers, says these make using pocket diapers tolerable since you don't have to touch the wet insert!
Honestly, having these makes me happy to take our cloth diapers on vacation now. At other houses we have to dunk and swish diapers, this will make that task much more pleasant!
The clean Dawgs also make great bath time toys for toddlers. I've had to hide mine from my son so I know where they are when it's time to use them!
The other item I received was the Heavy Dooty Cloth Wipes. Just the name made me giggle! These wipes are different than any others I've ever seen, they have a pocket!
The Heavy Dooty cloth wipes are single ply, bamboo terry cloth, 70% viscose bamboo, 28% organic cotton, and 2% polyester with 100% polyester thread, made in the USA by local (to Diaper Dawgs) area mothers. They are far superior to any cloth wipe I own.
As with all cloth items, you need to wash them once before using. They come out of the dryer super soft!
As you can see in the picture, the pocket on the wipe is large enough to cover your entire hand, making those poopy messes much easier to clean! Just wet with water or your wipe solution, squeeze out the excess liquid, slip your hand in the pocket, wipe away the mess!
My kids were recently sick, and these wipes were a lifesaver. Super soft for the multiple changes, and I only needed one per change, where if I used my other wipes I would have been using 2-3 wipes. They wash well, and I can honestly say, I will recommend both the Heavy Dooty cloth wipes and Diaper Dawgs to every cloth diapering family.

A few weeks ago, I was provided with an Imagine AI2 shell and 3 inserts to test and review by Nicki's Diapers. The following are my observations and experiences using this diaper. While the diaper was provided for me to review, all opinions, experiences, and action shots are my own.
I was very excited to be able to test and review one of the Imagine AI2 diapers. As a huge fan of all in two diapers, I love seeing how the different ones work on my children.
My daughter is the only one using diapers during the day, so all my observations are from using it on her.
These shells are an affordable $12.95 each, none packs of three inserts are $9.95 for size 1, and $10.95 for size 2. They are an excellent quality and have great advantages over some of the other brands out there. They have double layer PLU with inner flaps to cover the front and back of the snapped in insert. This also keeps the exposed PLU touching your baby limited.

My first observation was the fast (as usual) shipping from Nicki's Diapers. This, by far, is my favorite online diaper and baby supply store. The fast shipping and wonderful customer service, before, during, and after a sale is very important to me. I received the Imagine shell in Flutter, and three, size 2 inserts.
Luckily, it was wash day so I could run them through the one wash and dry they needed to be able to use them.
The shell is is very easy to adjust. I set the rise snaps so the shell wouldn't be to bulky, then snapped in the insert. I love having snap in inserts, as they keep the insert from shifting around. My daughter is just now walking, so this is important!
The shell was easy to snap on, and fits nice and trim. The diaper is super adorable, and I had a hard time wanting to cover it up with pants!
The diaper withstood playing with her brother for several hours without needing changed. We had no leaks, and the insert wasn't even soaked.
I changed and continued using the same shell for a good portion of the day. It was great during naps as well! It far exceeded my expectations in a cloth diaper.
I was sad when I was out of inserts for the day, so I continued using it with prefolds. The shell did extremely well with these as well!
Like all the AI2 covers I've used, you can continue using this shell until your baby poops, which is when you put the diaper in your dirty storage until it's wash day. This drastically cuts down on diaper laundry bulk, and allows the diapers to wash cleaner in the washing machine. It also makes for smaller diaper bags as you don't need to carry as many fully stuffed diapers, just take a few shells and several inserts for your trip out.
Our next trial day was a trip to the zoo. We drove over two hours to the Santa Ana Zoo. I changed her when we got there, and found that I could have waited, the insert was barely damp. The next insert did extremely well in the zoo. She was worn in a carrier around the zoo, no compression problems at all!
I absolutely love this husband friendly diapering system. I highly recommend it to anyone looking at AI2 diapers for their child/children.

A few weeks ago, I was provided with an Imagine AI2 shell and 3 inserts to test and review by Nicki's Diapers. The following are my observations and experiences using this diaper. While the diaper was provided for me to review, all opinions, experiences, and action shots are my own.
I was very excited to be able to test and review one of the Imagine AI2 diapers. As a huge fan of all in two diapers, I love seeing how the different ones work on my children.
My daughter is the only one using diapers during the day, so all my observations are from using it on her.
These shells are an affordable $12.95 each, none packs of three inserts are $9.95 for size 1, and $10.95 for size 2. December Cotton Booty Box
Well, as you may have seen, my December box was
delayed. The Post Office lost my first
one!!
When the replacement box arrived, I was excited! As soon as I got inside, I opened the package. Inside I found a SoftBums Echo one size aplix diaper, an EZ Squieezees pouch, and a small Bumkins bib.
They do leave a fluffy bum, but this diaper works great! It is super absorbent, easy to put on, and washes up nicely. If it is just a wet diaper, this system works like an all in 2. As long as the fleece in the shell isn't wet, you can snap in another insert, also called a pod, and reuse the shell. Always wash if there has been poop, even if you see no evidence on the shell itself.
The great thing about this is you can have fewer shells, decreasing laundry bulk and diaper bag bulk. Separate inserts wash up nicely, and dry much faster than AIO diapers. It also saves money! The diaper itself retails around $21.95 at most stores. The extra pod sets retail between $4.95 - $15.95 depending on the pod size and material used. You can choose from the dry touch mini pod, dry touch super pod, organic bamboo pods, or one size bamboo super pods.
Next is one of our favorite items in this house, a food pouch! These are great for snacks, small meals, or an easy way to take food on the go. Most recently I filled it with yogurt and put it on ice for a trip to the park. No spoons and less mess on the go! Once you get home, just open up the seal, remove the cap, rinse and put in the dishwasher (top rack) for easy cleaning. I use a bottle basket to contain the lid. A great way to transport your homemade baby food for feeding outside the home too.
The last item is the Bumkins bib. We own several in this house! This one is much smaller than what my toddler and baby currently use, but is great for keeping in the diaper bag for meals out.
Even late, I was very pleased with this box and cannot wait for the next one. I know the January box will be shipping late, so stay tuned to see what it contains!

Since my daughter is growing fast, I will stop receiving the Cotton Booty Boxes after April. We have a lot of diapers already. This is a great way to try out a lot of diapers though! The savings from ordering a year long subscription was definitely worth it!
