A Swift a Kick In The Booty, November Cotton Booty Box

Happy Thanksgiving!

This month's Cotton Booty box was themed A Swift Kick in the Booty.  As always, I pay for this box, all pictures and opinions are my own.

There were several items included, including one that smells fabulous!

This month's diaper was from Babykicks. It is a premium one size, pocket diaper unlike what I've seen before. It has the standard pocket opening, an insert, and waterproof cover, however there are differences!

The insert is an all natural cotton/hemp blend which needs washed at least 3 times before you use it. There is an extra, stay dry liner to lay over the top of the diaper, to keep baby feeling dry.  The leg openings are made from fleece to create better air flow, and the large aplix tabs can cross over for tiny babies.  The weight range on this diaper is 7-40 lbs, which is much higher than any other diaper I own. The bright red and white colors on my diaper are great for Christmas too!

Soft, fleece gussets for air circulation.

Large laundry tabs

The next item in the box was two reusable wipes, one velour and one flannel.  They are both 100% cotton and trimmed in a colorful! overlock stitch.

To go along with the wipes was a great smelling project, Baby Bits wipe bits and a spray bottle!  The wipe bits are all natural and hand made in Gainesville, Fla.  they are vegan, cruelty-free, and smell of lavender and tea tree. I haven't made mine yet because there is a contest as well!  The contest is for decorating the wipe bottle, then uploading a picture to Cotton Booty.
The spray bottle is also BPA free.

There were two other samples in the box.

The first was Flushable liners made by Bumkins.  I have used these before. They are great if there is a poop when out and about, making it easy to plop the mess in a toilet so you can roll up your diaper and take the diaper home. I do say to use caution with the liners, in older septic systems and older pluming, they can clog the system.  We cannot use flushable wipes at my parent's house, we found out the hard way when they had to call RotoRooter.

The second was a trial size Eco Nuts.  This trial size, all natural laundry soap will last 10 loads.  Eco nuts are the berry of the Sapindus Mukorossi tree in Asia. They are safe and effective.  I use them on my daughter's baby clothes and any delicate laundry of my own.  Place the berries in the drawstring bag, pull the string tight, and toss in with your laundry, then wash as normal.  Remove the bag and hang to dry when your wash is finished.

I'm very pleased with the items in this month's box.  With the need to prep the diaper, obviously, I
couldn't get it ready in time for on the bum pictures.

Cotton Booty Box, Sweet Relief

Please excuse the busy mom from not getting this up sooner!

The October Cotton Booty Box was named, Sweet Relief.  It really is too!  As always, I pay for this subscription, and all pictures and opinions are my own.

This box was perfect for my daughter, whom still hasn't managed to pop any teeth yet, even though she is crawling and pulling to stand!!

The Sweet Relief box was shipped late this month, due to the ABC Kid's Fair.

Upon opening this box, I had some trepidation.  I knew the diaper was a premium brand, but I also knew it was aplix.  I usually purchase snap diapers only, so I was a little concerned I wouldn't like the diaper.

Inside the box, I found a purple Rumparooz, one butter colored polished teething necklace, a sample tub of Cj's Butter, and single use OCuSOFT Baby eye wipes.

Being laundry day, I quickly took pictures of the diaper and tossed it in the wash so I could try it out!  I haven't managed to get pictures in use as life was busy, but I do love it.  The diaper is easy to stuff, and using both inserts, was perfect for an afternoon at the zoo with a sleeping baby in a wrap I was testing.  She even slept all the way home after my first successful transfer to the car seat.  :)

The amber necklace went right on my daughter.  She has been having a time with her teeth, they try to come in then seem to change their mind.  With the addition of the second amber necklace, her pain level seems to have reduced and she is a much happier baby again, even if she doesn't sleep long!

The lovely scent of Cj's this time almost had me saving this one, but I cannot save it all!  I used it for the first time changing R for the zoo.  It isn't overpowering, but has a nice, not overpowering scent in Lavender and Tea Tree.

I haven't had an opportunity to try the OCuSoft eye wipes, but I'm sure I will as soon as our first nasty cold comes along, until then, I'm saving them.

Here are some pictures of the Rumparooz Diaper for those not familiar with the construction.  It is a Pocket diaper, with two sized inserts.  The larger of the two can snap down to accommodate different rise settings on the diaper, and even better, the small insert can snap onto the large insert as a doubler without worries it will shift!

My favorite aspect of this diaper is the inner gussets.  My daughter is primarily breast fed, which makes for some interesting output when changing her diapers.  The gussets are designed to hold it all in so you don't have to worry about leaks.  When checking, you can usually safely put your finger under the edge of the leg and pull, without the worry of getting poop on your finger when checking, I make no promises when you're changing or spraying diapers!

In addition to all the lovely things I've received so far from Cotton Booty, they are doing a one-time, Limited Edition, non subscription box, "Kick The Habit Box" for $29.99

This box will help you and your child begin the next phase of cloth diapering.  It will contain 2 (two) different brands of cloth training pants and special extras to get you started, you even choose the size of the training pants.  It will ship Mid-December, and quantities are limited.  Click here to get the box.
Don't forget to select Cotton Booty Box at checkout for free shipping!

Cotton Booty is also running a Holiday Sale right now!  They have past boxes and other goodies on sale.  If you want to know what was in a previous box, take a look at past posts on my blog, I have subscribed since the beginning!

As always, if you don't already subscribe to the Cotton Booty Boxes, you can get $5 off your first box by using my link, Cotton Booty Referral.  Using this link, and other affiliate links on the blog help me bring giveaways to you!

White Bunny Boutique

Have you ever wondered where people get the super cute crocheted hats, custom hair clips and other cute, embroidered baby items?  Many WAHM make them, but I'm going to focus on my favorite one, White Bunny Boutique.

White Bunny Boutique has been in existence since July 2011, and has been wowing me with her skill and creativity since.  My first White Bunny product was a tag blanket for my son.  I like it much better than the commercially available tag blankets, and my son, now 2 1/2 will still play with it!  It is double sided, with a fleece side and nubby Minky side.

Unfortunately, this blanket is no longer made due to the patent on the design, but White Bunny now makes animal pal blankets!  These make a wonderful gift for a new baby!

The next two items I purchased were crochet hats.  I first ordered the cow hat to match my son's cow print diaper.  This made for some adorable pictures!

My second hat is a bison.  This was a special order and I am ever so thankful that it was made!  We went to Yellowstone and I wanted it for my son to wear there.  Much to my disappointment it was warm in Yellowstone that year, making the hat too warm to wear.  We do wear it around town though!

Since ordering last, White Bunny has added several new items.  Stuffed animals, felt hair clips, felt toys, hair clip holders, stuffed dolls in three sizes, embroidered shirts and more.  You can even have many items monogrammed, so make sure to ask about personalization.

If you're looking for a special item for a new baby, milestone birthday, or a present that is unique, I highly recommend shopping here.

I've also been informed that there is a new doll coming out soon, so stay tuned!

September Cotton Booty, Good Night, Sleep Tight

Sorry I'm late in getting this written, but we were hit hard by a cold and 6 month shots.

I've stated this before, but I pay for the Cotton Booty Boxes.  I received no compensation for this review.

The September Cotton Booty Box was Good Night, Sleep Tight.  Retail value $24.99

In this box we had a Kawaii Heavy Wetter overnight diaper, Wash With Water Massage Cream, and an Angel Dear Swaddle Blanket!

It took me a bit to get the overnight "testing" of the diaper done and also get pictures.

As I've said before, most pocket diapers don't work with my children.  The combination of heavy wetting and "flooding" the diaper by holding their pee makes for a disaster if a diaper isn't up to snuff.

I was pleasantly surprised by this diaper.  Being part of the group of diapers deemed "China Cheapies" when I was researching, I didn't think I'd like it.

The PLU is nice and thick.  It has a great snap configuration and it is wide, making it super easy to stuff!  During the day, a single insert was more than enough to keep my daughter dry for the 2 hour stretch between changes that is my norm.  The insert agitates out in my HE washer, so no pulling out wet inserts.

Overnight I double stuffed with their extra long inserts.  I nurse on and off all night long.  I check every time she wakes, and change if she is dirty or wet, but changing wakes her up fully, so I try to keep changes to a minimum as long as she is dry, clean, and rash free.  This diaper kept her dry all night long, and wasn't even soaked in the morning!!  I can see us using this overnight diaper for quite some time.

I haven't tried the Wash With Water baby massage cream yet.  Since we've all been sick, I didn't think it would help much.  I will be trying out an evening massage in the hopes that it helps her sleep.  She still wakes up every 2 hours, and now with teething, she isn't a very happy little girl.

The Angel Dear swaddle blanket looks to be similar to ones I have, which are the best thing I own!  I swaddle for naps so she gets a decent block of sleep.  I'd do so at night, but since she rolls, it isn't safe.  I use the blankets for burp cloths, swaddle blankets, car seat blankets, toys, and any other use I can come up with.  They also make a great nursing cover if you choose to use it as such.

I am probably keeping this one as a present for a friend, so I won't be unrolling it and washing it.

I do admit I was hoping for a fitted diaper in this box, but I'm really happy with what I did get!

Now I'm waiting for the next box, Sweet Relief.  It has been announced that the new box will have an amber teething necklace!!  We already have one, so I'm thrilled to be getting a second one.  I'm not a doctor, and this is not medical advice, but I can tell you that I have experienced relief from my aching nursing neck wearing mine.  :)

Due to a glitch in the Rafflecopter email server, I was led to believe my giveaway had ended early.  I apologize to those who wanted one more daily entry.  The winner was chosen and emailed before I got a reply back about what had happened and how to fix it.

Lesson learned, I will be paying much more careful attention to this in the future.

In One End, Out The Other, Cotton Booty Box for August

Fluffy mail today made my day!

This month's box is In One End, Out The Other.  After seeing online that my detergent has had a formula change, I needed a pick me up, and this was it.

The Fluffy mail package!
This box contained a diaper, Bumgenius 4.0 in Maathai, a sample of Bumgenius detergent (eerie timing on that one), and a set of Green Toys, plate, fork and spoon.

Such a cute way to package the items!!
First let's look at the BG 4.0.  This will be my first BG pocket diaper. I washed it right away so we could have some action shots!

It came in an adorable print Maathai, from the Genius series.  It comes with an envelope pocket opening and two microfiber inserts, infant and regular inserts.  The neat thing about the BG large insert is that it snaps down to fit the diaper when it is sized down for smaller babies!  You can use one insert or both together for added protection.

Both inserts

Both inserts inside the pocket opening
The diaper was super easy to stuff and adjust using the snaps on the front to fit my daughter.

The sample of BG detergent couldn't have come at a better time.  My detergent had a formula change and if my kids react to the new formulation, I'll be playing the game of find a new cloth diaper detergent.

BG partnered with Country Save, a well recognized cloth diapering detergent.  Many people use and love it!  It is free of dyes, fragrances, optical brighteners, enzymes and phosphates.  It is HE certified as well!  This package is good for one load of laundry, so I cannot wait to try it out.

Finally we get to the Green Toys plate, fork, and spoon.  These toys are made in California from post-consumer milk jugs.  They are BPA, phthalate, and pvc free!  This is part of a new line of eco-friendly products for our children and they meet the FDA standards for food contact, and are also dishwasher safe.

All in all, I am very pleased with this month's box!  I cannot wait to see what is in store next month with the Good Night, Sleep Tight box!  It is the highest value box yet!  If you haven't signed up to receive Cotton Booty Boxes, You can use my link to sign up and receive $5 off your first box!
